Sidewinder is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up, just like Major Stryker.
It's developed at Synergistic Software Inc. for Arcadia Systems in 1988.
That's five years before Major Stryker was released. Sidewinder is released
on the Amiga, the Atari ST and the PC.
Here are two screenshots of the PC version, followed by a screenshot of
Major Stryker. See if you can spot the similarities.

The following cheats only work in the full version. Since the game is
released as freeware, this shouldn't be a problem.
At the title screen type C H E A T,
when it says 'Cheat Active' you've done it right.
At the title screen, when you hold down H + S
and press one of the function keys, you'll warp to the level that has the
same number as the function key you've pressed. Thus, when you hold down
H + S + F1, you'll warp to level 1 and when you hold down
H + S + F5, you'll warp to level 5.
Then in the game hold down BACKSPACE + H + S, it'll say
'Cheat Mode On'. Press these three keys again and it'll say 'Cheat Mode Off'.
You're now ready to use the following cheats:
| TAB + O | Fire options |
| TAB + R | Rapid fire |
| TAB + S | Shield options |
Alternatively, you can type T E C H at the title screen
while holding down TAB. When it says 'Tech Support'
you've done it right. Usually, when you press TAB at the title screen, the main
menu appears and you can't type T E C H. So what you have to do is select
'Title Screen' at the main menu, hold down TAB en press ENTER to go to the
title screen. While still holding down TAB, enter T E C H.
Now you can also use the warp cheat by holding down H + S
at the title screen and pressing a function key. But in this Tech Support mode
you can do even more at the title screen:

| O | Watch the intro animation of Episode 2 |
| P | Watch the intro animation of Episode 3 |
| J | Watch the ending animation of Episode 1 |
| K | Watch the ending animation of Episode 2 |
| L | Watch the ending animation of Episode 3 |
In the game the following cheats are activated in Tech Support mode:
| C | Pause the game, press C again to advance one frame |
| TAB + E | Exit level |
| TAB + BACKSPACE | Displays the words 'Show Lock' and speeds the game up |
Again you can press in the game BACKSPACE + H + S and
again it'll say 'Cheat Mode On'. And again you're now ready to use the following
cheats:
| TAB + O | Fire options |
| TAB + R | Rapid fire |
| TAB + S | Shield options |
But this time TAB + I also works and it gives you
invincibility.
